Over $18K Raised at Golf Tournament
for Local 589 Charities
New AM start a hit with golfers
Over $18,000 was raised for Local 589 charities at this year’s Union charity golf tournament held at the Ponkapoag Golf Course in Canton.
This year, the Boston Carmen’s Union made some significant changes to our annual tournament. Both of Ponkapoag’s 18-hole courses were completely sold out – as usual – and, because of your suggestions, our new 7:30 am Shotgun Start instead of our traditional Noon start proved to be extremely popular. We plan to keep this format in next year’s tournament.
A special nod of thanks goes to the great people at Lantana’s Restaurant in Randolph for their outstanding service and mouth-watering prime rib at our post-golf reception. Terrific prizes, great raffles and a lot of laughs marked our reception – don’t miss it next year!
Thanks to you and our generous sponsors, the Boston Carmen’s Union will be able to lend a real helping hand to area charities and non-profit groups that focus on kids and families in our ridership communities.
All of the monies raised went directly to our charitable fund with no cost to our Union – thank you all again and see you next year. |
