Operator Training Hours Increased
An important issue that arose because of this year’s System Pick was a decrease in operator training time by locations.
Union operators voiced their frustration when this occurred arguing that they didn’t have sufficient training time to become comfortable learning the ins-and-outs of new vehicles and new routes, issues of public safety, personal safety and customer service.
The Union has resolved this issue with T Management and reasonable increases in training times are now a mandatory part of our working agreement.
The new training times are as follows:
Arborway 8 days
Cabot 10 days
Bennett Street 7 days – bus/7 days – trackless trolley
Charlestown 10 days
Quincy 8 days
Lynn 10 days
Silver Line 1 day
